Why we deliver the complete recording file

The catalog shows six performances separately, while delivery keeps them together with the calibration poses in one FBX.

The catalog and the delivery file serve different purposes

The currently published wave pack contains six performances recorded continuously in genki_Take002.fbx. In the catalog, we split the recording into six previews so you can compare each interpretation of the same action.

For delivery, we keep the six performances together in the original FBX. The T-pose at the beginning and end also remains in the file.

Why the T-poses remain

Retargeting transfers motion from the captured skeleton to a different character rig. Before transfer, the source and target normally need to be checked for bone mapping, scale, forward and up axes, frame rate, and their calibration poses. The exact setup depends on the software and rig.

Removing the beginning and end of the recording would also remove the captured calibration reference. That is why selecting one catalog preview does not create a separately trimmed delivery FBX.

From preview to retargeting

  1. Compare the six performance previews in the catalog.
  2. Choose the recording pack that contains the performance you need.
  3. Receive the original FBX with all six performances and both T-poses retained.
  4. Set the skeleton mapping, axes, scale, frame rate, and calibration pose for your target character before retargeting.
